Dear Terry:

I have never and pray I will never again have to deal with a worse crisis then these abominable acts in NY, Washington and Pittsburgh this past week.

The tragedy is chiseled on my soul and the ramifications from it; as you well know, will go on for quite sometime.

Through all this horror it makes the success of Hassett Air Express this weekend even more outstanding. I am not sure if I'll ever get tired of saying this and I know you will never get tired of hearing it but:

THE HASSETT WAY HAS COME THROUGH ONCE AGAIN!!

Your people and the plans to deal with the emergency has shown me that the Hassett Way is stronger then ever. The communication from your office, to the phone calls at home late a night making sure I was updated immediately was the leadership I've come to expect from Hassett. Your people throughout the weekend kept me informed where my freight was, when to expect it to arrive and of course when it did arrive.

I was concerned about the bay area and took the extra steps of sending bulk copies by FedEx and UPS just in case the freight with Hassett did not show up on time. As I was walking in this morning your driver gave a big smile, a good morning and told me the copies had been dropped off moments before.

An hour or two later Fedx and UPS showed up.

You should be proud of all of Hassett as I am. It's still the most
professional company I do business with. Thanks for all your help.

Dear Dan:

I wanted to write and express our sincere appreciation for the level of service that Hassett consistently provides and especially for the extraordinary efforts of the terminal managers and everyone involved, the week following the September 11 attacks.

Those efforts began with your telephone call of reassurance that your team would take care of our shipments via trucks if necessary, and that they did. The positive communication continued throughout the weekend with constant shipment updates from the Dulles, Philadelphia and San Francisco terminals. The many memos from your corporate office, regarding postal service and airline updates were invaluable as well.

We cannot thank you and your team enough, not only for effectively handling our deliveries, but also for performing and communicating with complete assurance and professionalism during that week of horrific national disaster with increased volumes and grounded planes.

It is truly a pleasure to work with you all.

Not one, but two, great issues of Newsweek which chronicle and inform the world of the shock and destruction of the terrorist attacks are selling out newsstands around the world and are in the hands of Newsweek subscribers because of your dedication and professionalism.

Once again you and your team have, at the last moment, successfully undertaken the exceptionally arduous task of distributing two news-breaking issues in one week. Your ability to receive information at the last minute, set up the necessary transportation and arrive on schedule was simply incredible. These unforgettably powerful magazines stand as a proud tribute to your skills and support during a deeply painful time ... a time when Americans are felling the consequences of this horrendous tragedy.

This weekend and into early next week, we will have yet another challenge to put out two or more historic issues of Newsweek. I have every confidence that we will get it done.
